The fruit, which was named officially as the Fuji Apple in 1962, is the most famous late-maturing variety. Fuji apples were imported to China and grown mainly in Shang Dong, Gan Su and Shan Xi. Those commonly seen in Hong Kong market are from Shang Dong province. Adequate sunshine and fertile soil fertilizes juicy apples with crispy skin.
